Charity Events
1.Continue with education donation and poverty alleviation activities. In 2010, public welfare donations from the whole CITIC Securities group reached RMB 5.54 million, including RMB 2,919,100 to the earthquake stricken area of Yushu, Qinghai Province, RMB 19,600 to poor mothers, RMB
1.1 million to Zhouqu, Gansu Province and RMB 1.5 million to the account of ¡°Beijing Xingda Scholarship
Foundation¡±.
The Corporate Development Financing division offered to donate and set up ¡°CITIC-Wispring Scholarship of Tongdao No.1 Middle School¡± and the subscribed amount has reached RMB 168,700. The scholarship for No. 1 Middle School of Hunan Tongdao Dong Autonomous County is under the management of Wispring Education Development Foundation and is intended for poor students with academic excellence and noble mind.
2.Visit the aided poor students. The Company organized its employees to visit students financially aided by Beijing Xingda Scholarship Foundation in No. 1 Middle School of Jixian County. Those employees were deeply impressed and realized that in addition to financial aid, spiritual aid, such as inspiration and encouragement, was also very important.
During the first hike activity organized by the Company, the employees went to No. 1 Middle School of Guyuan County and had one-on-one conversations with the beneficiaries. Speeches by the three student representatives were really touching. To celebrate the Teachers¡¯ Day, the employees also brought some gifts for teachers and some dictionaries for students.
3.CITIC-Kington completed Hope School Program and launched ¡°Kinging Sunflower¡± event. CITIC-Kington Education Foundation¡¯s Hope School Program in Fangcun Town, Changshan County was successfully completed in early 2010 and an opening ceremony was held to rename the school and grant scholarship. Meanwhile, CITIC-Kington also launched a donation event among members of its Labor Union. Donations of RMB 7,100 were received and had helped some poor students through pressing urgencies. In May, CITIC-Kington Education Foundation contributed RMB 400,000 and cooperated with Education Bureau of Liandu District, Lishui City to carry out a series of activities under ¡°Kinging Sunflower¡± program with the theme of excellent teacher team cultivation and student thanksgiving education. A launching ceremony was held in Meishan Middle School, during which ¡°Kinging Sunflower¡± excellent teacher team of the school was officially established and Kinging moral model awards were presented to qualified middle and primary school students. Mr. Zou Yue, the Chief Speaker and Honorary Head of the Lectures of Chinese Time's Voice delivered a theme speech on loving the motherland, teachers and parents and self-reliance.
4.CITIC Securities International¡¯s active role in Hong Kong social care events . CITIC Securities International¡¯s active role in Hong Kong social care events
To encourage employees to participate in social care events, CITIC Securities International nominated the top 3 active employees to the Hong Kong Council of Social Service to compete for ¡°Caring Ambassador Award¡± and these nominees had finally won that Award. In Hong Kong, CITIC Securities International is actively dedicated to various social care events for the old, poor families, children, people with intellectual disabilities/heart diseases, the visually impaired and victims of natural disasters etc. In 2010, CITIC Securities International participated in a total of 31 social care events, raising HKD 120,000 from staff and HKD 310,000 from the company. A total of 72 employees participated in these events. In honor of CITIC Securities International¡¯s active role in social care events and with the recommendations of 6 social welfare organizations, it was awarded the Caring Company Logo by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service.
Care for employee¡¯s health and development
1.Carry out various cultural and physical activities. To enhance employees¡¯ fitness, train their abilities to endure hardships, strengthen communication and exchanges between them and promote company culture of unity and cooperation, the Company organized the first hiking event in Shandian River of Guyuan, Hebei Province, and three similar events in Yongding River Valley, Tanglang Mountain of Shenzhen and around Taihu Lake. The Company staff participated group by group under the leadership of the Company management to jointly cultivate the corporate culture of striving, cooperation and persistence.
To celebrate its 15th anniversary of foundation, the Company held its sixth games at the ground track field of China Paralympics Management Center in Beijing. More than 1,600 employees from several companies, including CITIC Securities, CITIC-Kington, CITIC Wantong, China Asset Management, CITICS Futures, CITIC Securities International, Goldstone Investment and participated in the games. Games for the whole CITIC Securities system has been held for six consecutive years to advocate the concept of ¡°health first¡± and promote the importance of physical exercises after hard work.
The badminton final 2010 of the whole CITIC Securities system was held in Hongshan Stadium, Wuhan on May 15, 2010. In addition, the Labor Unions of CITIC Securities in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen and Labor Unions of direct subordinate outlets had respectively participated in visit, excursion, outward development, fellowship event and games etc.
In February 2010, CITIC Wantong held a spring gala to promote communications between employees; in March 2010, it hosted the annual spring cross-country race and got active responses from employees; in June 2010, it held a striding event to promote ¡°low carbon and green life¡± and Wantong spirits; in September 2010, it organized a recital contest with the theme of ¡°celebrate National Day and eulogize our motherland¡± to celebrate the 61st anniversary of PRC and promote the mandarin level of employees.
CITIC-Kington held the first games and nearly 800 employees participated in it; it organized the eighth ¡°CITIC-Kington Cup¡± Table Tennis Game and the first ¡°CITIC-Kington Cup¡± Badminton Game of the securities industry of Zhejiang Province and its endeavors were highly praised by CSRC Zhejiang Regulatory Bureau, Securities Association of Zhejiang and each player team; it held a mountain-climbing event and more than 500 employees participated; it organized the ¡°CITIC-Kington Cup¡± Basketball Game and established its basketball team.
In June 2010, CITICS Futures organized more than 90 people from its headquarters in Shenzhen and regional business departments to Jinggang Mountain, the sacred place of revolutions in China, to participate in its ¡°Corporate Culture Building Symposium¡± and ¡°Futures Knowledge Contest¡±. In addition, Labor Union of CITICS Futures also held regular football, badminton and table tennis events and games.
2.Bring tangible benefits to employees and build up a harmonious environment . Labor Unions at all levels manage to bring tangible benefits to employees and care for them in a heart-warming way. These Labor Unions have basically achieved the employee policy goal of ¡°visit in each case of major difficulty, hospitalization and funeral¡± and ¡°celebrate every birthday, wedding and baby birth¡±. They also visit the injured, diseased and retired employees on occasion of major festivals such as the Chinese New Year, Middle Autumn Day and National Day. In case of business trip etc., they visit regional business departments and communicate with employees for their opinions and suggestions.
Labor Unions at all levels have always carried out the ¡°Heart-Warming Program¡± for poor or seriously diseased employees. When Chen Shicong, the General Manager of Wuhan Business Department of CITIC Securities, was in hospital for cancer treatment, the Company management and Labor Union members went to visit him; after Chen passed away, they went to Wuhan immediately to organize funeral and deal with relevant affairs, just like a family member.
CITIC-Kington also organizes employee family events to help create a harmonious family relationship. It held the ¡°Kington Baby¡± photo contest and received nearly 200 photos. On June 1, 2010, it held the ¡°June 1st¡± parent-child event and ¡°Kington Baby¡± photo contest award ceremony. CITIC-Kington¡¯s appreciation towards employee families was fully expressed through this event. Before the Chinese New Year, the Labor Union of CITIC-Kington visited those retired under special care program in Hangzhou one by one and proposed to Kington to improve their basic living standard in a proper way.
CITIC Securities International continues to advocate the importance of physical & psychological health and family life and proposed the concept of ¡°balance work and life¡± to reduce overtime working and realize the balance between work and life. What¡¯s more, CSI continues to invite employees¡¯ children to annual Christmas evening to bring employee-employee and employee-child closer to each other.
3.Bring tangible benefits to female employees. Before ¡°Women¡¯s Day¡± (March 8), Labor Unions at all levels celebrated it in different ways. Female Employee Committee of Labor Union of CITIC Securities, CITIC-Kington and CITIC Wantong organized special item examinations for female employees again to relieve them of health concerns. On occasion of the ¡°Women¡¯s Day¡± (March 8), CITIC Securities issued a Letter of Appreciation to all female employees; Labor Union of CITIC Wantong organized a symposium for female employees; Labor Union of CITIC-Kington invited experts to provide health consultancy to female employees.
There is a Chinese saying that as heaven maintains vigor through movements, a gentleman should constantly strive for self-perfection; as earth's condition is receptive devotion, we should hold the outer world with broad mind. In future development, the Company will continue to advocate charity and dedication, fulfill due social responsibilities as usual, strengthen the sense of social responsibility, further integrate the sense and concept of social responsibility to its business concept and make contributions to the sustainable development of economy, society and environment as well as the building up of a harmonious society.
