CITIC Securities Co., Ltd., formerly CITIC Securities LimitedŁ¬was incorporated in Beijing on October 25, 1995.

Upon approval of China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) on October 27, 1999 and re-registration with the State Administration for Industry and Commerce on December 29, 1999, CITICS was incorporated as a joint stock company in Shenzhen with increased registered capital.

Upon approval of CSRC on December 13, 2002, the Company undertook an initial public offering (IPO) of 400 million common A shares. On January 6, 2003, CITICS (Ticker: 600030) was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Upon approval of CSRC on June 27, 2006, CITICS issued 500 million common A-shares through private placement to China Life Insurance (Group) Company and China Life Insurance Company Ltd., raising a total of RMB4.640 billion. Meanwhile, the Company also accomplished issuance of RMB1.5 billion worth of 15-year bonds in the inter-bank market.

Upon approval of CSRC on August 31, 2007, CITICS offered 334 million A shares via public follow-on offering and raised about RMB 25 billion, becoming the largest securities firm in China by capital.

CITIC Group is the largest shareholder of CITICS. CITICS, together with China CITIC Bank, CITIC Trust Co., Ltd. and CITIC Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd., constitute CITIC Holdings' integrated financial operations and provide domestic and overseas clients with full range of financial services in cooperation with CITIC International Financial Holdings Ltd.

CITICS holds controlling stake in subsidiaries including China Securities Co., Ltd., CITIC-Kington Securities Co., Ltd., CITIC Wantong Securities Co., Ltd., CITIC Securities International Co., Ltd., China Asset Management Co., Ltd., CITICS Futures Co., Ltd., Gold Stone Investment Ltd., and CITIC Private Equity Funds Management Co., Ltd., etc. With subsidiaries included, CITICS owns 186 securities brokerage branches, 42securities service branches and 8 future brokerage branches in China. As of late 2008, the Company's total assets has amounted to RMB 136.9 billion, with net assets at RMB 55.2 billion.

CITICS was voted No. 1 in "Best Local Brokerage" survey sponsored by New Fortune magazine in 2005, honored as No. 1 in "Best Local Investment Banking Team" survey in 2007 and 2008, No. 1 in "Best Local Research Teams" survey in 2006, 2007 and 2008, prized as No. 1 in "Best Local Sales Teams" survey in 2006. The Company was selected as the "Best Domestic Bond House" from 2002 to 2005 and in 2008 respectively, awarded as "Best Domestic Equity House" in survey sponsored by Asia Money in 2004, 2007 and 2008 respectively and honored as "Best Local Brokerage" in 2007 and 2008. In 2008, CITICS was named awarded "Best Domestic Brokerage" and "Best Domestic Debt House" in surveys sponsored by Finance Asia.
