Beijing, 19 August 2021 – CITIC Securities Company Limited (“CITIC Securities” or “the Company”; 600030.SH, 6030.HK) today announced its interim results for the six- month period ended 30 June 2021. In the first half of 2021, based on China Accounting Standards for Business Enterprises, the Company reported an operating income of RMB 37.721 billion, representing an increase of 41.05% year-on-year. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent company was RMB 12.198 billion, up 36.66% year- on-year. Earnings per share was RMB 0.94, a growth of 34.29% year-on-year.
In the first half of 2021, which also marked the beginning of the 14th Five-year plan, CITIC Securities implemented a new development strategy to align with the national development plan. Based on its forward-looking approach, comprehensive development of its business units and extensive client resources, along with its commitment to support national strategies, serve the real economy and create greater value for society, CITIC Securities has been exploring new business models, fulfilling its corporate social responsibility duties, promoting ESG, and providing sustainable and stable returns for its shareholders.
During the review period, CITIC Securities’ major businesses continued to top the ranking among its peers. The Company recorded a domestic equity led underwriting amount of RMB 142.299 billion (including cash and assets) with a market share of 18.07%, ranking the highest in the market. The Company also advised on 27 IPO listings, with a total issuing size of RMB 37.714 billion, representing a market share of 17.88% and ranking the highest in the industry. The Company’s bond led underwriting amount was RMB 663.803 billion, an increase of 17.89% year-on-year, accounting for
a 13.18% market share in terms of underwriting amount. The Company underwrote a total of 1,287 bonds - the highest number in the market - and at the same time completed several major A-share asset restructuring transactions, which recorded a combined value of RMB 18.2 billion, representing a market share of 22.80% and another top ranking in the industry. The number of clients CITIC Securities served exceeded 11.4 million, with customer assets under custody totalling over RMB 9.7 trillion and a total trading volume of equity funds of RMB 15.8 trillion. The Company achieved an AUM of RMB 1.39 trillion, of which RMB 1166.368 billion was attributable to active management. Finally, the Company had a 13.84% market share in private asset management (excluding pension business, public offering products and asset securitization products) under new asset management rules, ranking the highest in the industry.
On the international business front, CITIC Securities continued to implement a globally integrated management system and develop its cross-border service capabilities for various business lines. In the first half of 2021, CITIC Securities’ overseas business achieved its best performance since the Company’s acquisition of CLSA in 2013.
