CITIC Securities Company Limited Announces FY2020 Annual Results

Beijing/ Hong Kong, 18 March 2021 – CITIC Securities Company Limited (“CITIC Securities” or “the Company”; 600030.SH, 6030.HK) announced earlier its FY2020 annual results. Based on China Accounting Standards for Business Enterprises, the Company reported RMB 54.383 billion in revenue, up 26.06% year-on-year. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent company increased 21.86% year-on-year to RMB 14.902 billion. Earnings per share were RMB 1.16. In the financial year of 2020, CITIC Securities continued to be the top-ranked securities company in China in terms of revenue and net profit, and achieved stable growth across its various business lines.

2020 marked the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Company. CITIC Securities continuously strengthened its corporate governance framework; enhanced its overall strategic planning and core competitiveness of each business line; built up robust capital strength and client services capabilities; and continued to practice excellence in corporate culture and core values. The Company maintained market-leading positions across its business lines. The Company’s domestic equity underwriting amount was RMB 313.599 billion (including the private placement of assets) with a market share of 18.94%, the highest in the industry. The Company’s bond underwriting amount was RMB 1,298.944 billion with a market share of 12.93%, also the highest in the industry. The domestic trading turnover of equity funds handled by the Company, CITIC Securities (Shandong) and CITIC Securities South China was RMB 28.6 trillion; distribution of financial products amounted to RMB 944.7 billion; while the size of its wealth management and investment business exceeded RMB 10 billion. The AUM entrusted in the Company was RMB 1,366.401 billion. Under the new asset management rules, the Company’s new privately offered asset management business (excluding pensions business, publicly offered large scale collective products and asset securitization products) achieved a market share of approximately 13.5%, the largest in the industry.

CITIC Securities has celebrated many ‘firsts’ over the course of the past 25 years, during which it continuously explored and developed new business models. In 2003, the Company became the first domestically-listed securities firm in China following the completion of its A-share listing. In 2005, CITIC Securities established CITIC Securities (Hong Kong), and became the first within the industry to obtain the approval to establish a wholly-owned subsidiary in Hong Kong. In 2011, it was successfully listed in Hong Kong, becoming the first Chinese securities firm to be listed on both A-share and H-share markets, enabling the Company to build up a globalized business, through a Hong Kong listing and overseas M&A.
